Rules of Origin consultations – Inputs sought

Rules of Origin (ROO) are the criteria to determine the origin of a good/product under a trade agreement. Therefore, unless a good/product does not meet the ROO criteria for an agreement, it would not be eligible for duty concessions under the agreement. One may consult the FAQs uploaded for clarity on the issue.

The specific inputs on ROO may be provided in the following formats: a. Product Specific Rule (PSR) HS code (at 6 digit, 4 digit or chapter) Description PSR or process rule sought Rationale
b. Certification procedures: whether to use i. Certification by 3rd parties or agencies in a particular format ii. Self-certification by all exporters or a list of approved exporters
c. Any other inputs on rules of origin
