109.1 NEW UNIT APPLICATION

AGENDA ITEM NO. 109.1.1 : Application for setting up of a unit for Service Activity for Processing of Agro Commodities and Trading Activity in KASEZ namely M/s LMP Overseas, 117, Shakti Shopping Center, Mundra Port Road, Mundra, Kutch 370 421 Their proposal is for setting up unit in Kandla Special Economic Zone for Service Activity for Processing of Agro Commodities and Trading Activity. °

Shri. Rasik Patel, authorised representative of the company appeared before the Approval Committee and explained their proposal.

Shri. Patel informed that one of the partners of the unit is having an agro processing unit at Patan in North Gujarat and they are one of the leading suppliers of sesame seeds, castor seeds, mustard seeds, etc. to various manufacturer and exporters in western and southern regions for ultimate export to rest of the world. Their present annual turnover in their agro processing unit at Patan is about Rs. 2.50 to 3.00 crores. Shri Patel further stated that they propose to set up a unit in Kandla SEZ for processing of agro commodities and undertaking trading activity. They will source the raw materials for agro processing mainly from indigenous source but as well through imports also.

The Committee noted that import of seeds are listed in restricted category, their imports are subject to import permit and regulated with Plant Quarantine (Regulation of Import imto Imdia) Order, 2006. Further, Committee also noted that as per the flow chart of manufacturing process the proposed activity does not get covered under definition of ‘manufacture’ under Section 2(r) of the SEZ Act, 2005. | ke

The Approval Committee after due deliberation decided to defer: thie proposal with the request to the unit to furnish item-wise processing chart with their present import/export policy. The Committee after due deliberation also decided to approve the trading activities, as requested by the unit, of Building Material & Fitting, Sanitary Ware, Agriculture Machinery and Building Equipment & Machinery and did not approve Trading of Tiles.

109.2 REQUEST FOR BROADBANDING

AGENDA ITEM NO. 109.2.1 Broad banding of manufacturing of Shisha Tobacco and Ghutkha of M/s Tej Ram Dharam Paul, KASEZ, in their existing LoA.

M/s Tej Ram Dharam Paul have requested for broad-banding in their existing LoA F.No. KASEZ/IA/01/2015-16 dated 28.04.2015. Nobody appeared for explaining the proposal. The unit has intimated vide letter dated 16.02.2017 about their unavailability and requested to take up the matter in the next UAC. Hence, it was decided to defer the proposal in the next UAC meeting. :
