Sub: Interim relief to SEZ Units in lease rent on account of COVID-19 outbreak — Reg.
This is to inform you that the Government of India (Department of Commerce) has decided to give the following relief for SEZ Units in Government SEZs on account of COVID-19 outbreak.
- (A) No increase in lease rent for the SEZ Units for the FY 2020-21. (B) Payment of Lease rent of first quarter is to be deferred upto 31% July, 2020 for all SEZ Units. The deferment may not invite any interest thereof.
es All Developers of State Government/Private SEZs are requested to consider similar relief measures in their Zones also. Copy of Department of Commerce letter is enclosed.

| am directed to refer to the subject mentioned above and to State that this Department has examined the proposal in consultation with Department of Expenditure and decided following relief for SEZ units on account of COVID-19 outbreak. (A) No increase in lease rent for the SEZ units for the FY 2020-21 (B) Payment of Lease rent of first quarter is to be deferred upto 31st July, 2020 for all SEZ units. The deferment may not invite any interest thereof.
- Accordingly, DCs are requested to take necessary action on the matter. DCs are also measuresrequested intotheiradvise zones.developers of state govt./private SEZs to consider similar relief 3. This issues with the approval of competent authority.
