In view of the possible threat posed by the outbreak of Coronavirus leading to Coronavirus disease (Covid-19), some of the IT/ITES units under the jurisdiction of the Office of Development Commissioner, Cochin SEZ have requested for permission to allow their employees to work from home and for removal of Laptops/Desktops ior this purpose. Proviso to Rule 43 of SEZ Rules, 2006 read with instruction No. 85 issued by the Department of Commerce.enables work from home by employees of SEZ Units subject tb tfre conditions specified therein. Therefore, in line with the Government's policy of Eas! of doing business, it has been decided that SEZ Units under the jurisdiction of cochin SEZ who would like to exercise the option of work from home for their employees may do so under intimation to the Development Commissioner, Cochin SEZ. Such Units shall submit to the SpecifiediAuthorised Officer of the respective Zone a list of Laptop/Desktops which are proposed to be removed from the concerned SEZ to enable their employees to work from home through secured network connectivity. When the goods are broughi Uact< to the SEZ later, the same shall be accounted for by the Specified/Authorised Officer with the list already submiited.
