CIRCULAR No.2/2021

This office has been receiving a number of requests from individual Units located in different Special Economic Zones in Kerala and Karnataka for permission to conduct vaccination camps for their employees. The Department appreciates initiatives taken by the Units/Developers/Co- developers to provide vaccines to their employees through Workplace Covid Vaccination Centres.
Considering that universal vaccination and strictly following Covid-19 protocols are the solutions to arrest the pandemic, Units/Developers/Co-developers in Kerala and Karnataka are allowed to set up Industrial/Workplace Covid Vaccination Centres following the guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) of Government of India and the governments of the State concerned from time to time. Such camps should only be conducted in large halls available in the Zone and preferably not in the premises of the Units. The Developers/Co-developers concerned should coordinate and provide space and allot time in consultation with the Units. The Units/Developers/Co-developers should also comply with Rule 70 of the SEZs Rules, 2006. This Circular is issued as a special case and in the interest of ease of doing business.
