To, All Members of the Council based in Mumbai. Dear Members, The Council organized a meeting with exporter members of gold jewellery on 2nd March 2021 whereby the issue of submission of bill of entry document by exporters for release of duty drawback at Mumbai PCCCC was brough to the notice of Council.
The Council took up the issue with the Customs Authorities at Mumbai APSC and clarified to them that as per the public notice no.04/2010 (copy enclosed) dated 24th Feb 2010 exporters are required to submit a declaration only for export of Gold/Silver Jewellery or parts thereof under claim of drawbacks with the relevant documents for claiming of duty drawback and the same process should be continued with as no instruction or amendment to such public notice has been issued by Customs.
We understand that internally the matter has been discussed in Customs and accepted. Accordingly, the members are requested to follow the procedure prescribed in the public notice no.04/2010 dated 24th Feb 2010 and submit a declaration as per clause no 4 (a) (v) of such notice for claiming the duty drawback.
