Circular to all Members regarding CBIC Notification No.24/2020

To, ALL MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL Dear Members, We are glad to inform you that CBIC has issued a Notification No.24/2020-Customs dated 21st May, 2020 notifying the following: - • Inclusion of International Gemological Institute (India) Pvt. Ltd, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai.”; Name of IGI has been included in the list of laboratories approved by DGFT for import and re-export of cut & polished diamonds for certification/grading purpose along with other laboratories as notified earlier. Also, they have revised the clause no.(x) of the Customs notification No.40/2015 and extended the time period for re-export to six months instead of thee months due to Covid-19 where the last date of re-export falls between 1st Feb and 31st July 2020 as mentioned below:- (b) in condition (x), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely: -“Provided that for the cases where the last date of re-export falls between the 1 st February, 2020 and the 31 st July, 2020, the last date stands extended by six months;”. • 56/2000-Customs dated the 5th May, 2000 [G.S.R 399(E), dated the 5th May, 2000 • 57/2000-Customs dated the 8th May, 2000 [G.S.R. 413(E), dated the 8th May,2000 In continuation of the circular dated 1st April 2020, it is to be informed that pursuant to the issue of the issue of notification no. 57/2015-2020 and public notice no. 67/2015-2020 dated 31st March 2020 by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) extending the time limits of imports/ replenishment authorisation application/exports expiring between 1st February 2020 and 31st July 2020 by six months, the Department of Revenue, Ministry of Finance, Government of India has also issued Notification No.24/2020- Customs dated 21/05/2020 amending notification No.56/2000-Customs dated 05.05.2000; 57/2000- Customs dated 08.05.2000 providing for extension of last date of export by six months where the last date of export falls between 1st February 2020 and 31st July 2020 by six months.
