Ref.No.: GJEPC/Measures_DGFT/2020-21 14th May 2020 To, ALL MEMBERS OF THE COUNCIL Dear Members, Consequent upon amendment of import condition of silver under Chapter 71 of ITC (HS) 2017, Schedule-I (Import Policy) vide DGFT Notification No.36 /2015-2020 dated 18th December 2019 Import was allowed only through nominated agencies as notified by RBI (in case of banks) and DGFT (for other agencies). As this condition was causing difficulties for the exporters, the Council had represented to the authorities and the Ministry. Vide Notification No. 05/2015-2020 dated 13th May 2020DGFT DGFT has made further amendments in the import policy conditions of silver under Chapter 71 of ITC(HS), 2017, Schedule-1(Import Policy). As per the revised conditions,import of Silver Powder [Exim Code 71061000], import of Unwrought Silver[Exim Code 71069100], import of Silver Sheets, plates, strips, tubes and pipe [Exim Code 71069210] and import of Other Silver [Exim Code 71069290] under Advance Authorisation and supply of silver directly by foreign buyers to exporters under Para 4.45 of FTP against export orders are exempted from the policy condition of ‘import allowed only through nominated agencies as notified by RBI (in case of banks) and DGFT (for other agencies).’ Members may download the notification from our website www.gjepc.org.
