Subject: Use of ICETABs for efficient examination and Clearance process- reg.

Attention is invited to all the officers posted in Import Shed to the CBIC Circular No. 10/2024- Customs dated 20.08.2024 regarding the Use of ICETABs for efficient examination and clearance process(copy enclosed). Continuous efforts are being made by CBIC in simplifying trade procedures, enhancing transparency, and adopting best practices have enabled it to achieve steady improvements across various trade facilitation indicators. 2. In view of the objective of trade facilitation, transparency and efficiency in Customs processes, CBIC has decided to use ICETAB for speedy examination of import consignments. 3. The ICETABs have been implemented in the import sheds of the ACC, Mumbai Customs Zone-III. Accordingly, it is reiterated that all officers posted in the Import Shed, ACC shall use ICETAB only and not the ICES 1.5 system for feeding all the examination reports. 4. In cases of exigencies where the report cannot be given using ICETAB, prior permission of concerned Assistant Commissioner shall be taken and the same may be recorded in the examination report as well. 5. All officers are requested to take note of the above and ensure strict compliance with immediate effect. This issues with the approval of Pr. Commissioner of Customs(I).
