Subject: - System-based Examination Application on ICEGATE 2.0 for scheduling of

physical examination of imported goods (E- scheduling of Cargo Examination) Attention of Importers, Customs Brokers and all other stakeholders is drawn to CBIC Circular No. 07/2026-Customs dated 01.02.2026 and Public Notice No. 74/2025-26 dated 10.02.2026 issued by this office, regarding introduction of system-based measures for enhancing transparency, accountability and efficiency in the examination of imported goods. 2. In continuation of the above initiatives, and as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen digital processes, improve auditability and reduce dwell time in cargo clearance, a System- based Examination Application on ICEGATE 2.0 has been developed for scheduling of physical examination of imported goods (E-scheduling of Cargo Examination). This application seeks to introduce a structured, transparent and technology-driven mechanism for managing examination of import cargo. 3. The said application enables Importers/IEC holders and authorised Customs Brokers to electronically schedule, view and reschedule examination of registered goods through ICEGATE, with automated system-generated notifications to the concerned officers, Importers, Customs Brokers and Custodians. 4. This facility has been tested on pilot basis and is now being rolled out to all ICDs and Air Cargo Complexes across Customs formations, with further expansion to other locations in a phased manner. 5. The key features of the E-scheduling facility are as under: a. Examination slots are automatically allocated to the examining officer by the system based on availability, reducing uncertainty and avoidable delays.  b. Trade can view pending, scheduled and completed examinations online. c. Rescheduling of examination, where required, can be done electronically, with system generated intimation to the concerned officer, Importer, Customs Broker and CUS/AG/PN/13/2025-PRO-O/o Commr-Cus-Imp-Zone-III-Mumbai I/4047056/2026

Custodian. d. Based on automated notification, Custodians can plan placement of goods in the examination area in advance, facilitating efficient cargo handling. 6. The E-scheduling facility operates in a transparent and rule-based manner, with system- generated audit trails and real-time visibility of examination status. Any modification such as rescheduling, placing examination on hold, or removal of a Bill of Entry from the examination schedule shall be undertaken only by the Assistant/Deputy Commissioner in charge, with due recording of reasons. 7. Further, ICEGATE has issued Advisory dated 05.02.2026 for Examination Application for Importers and Authorized Customs Brokers. It provides a detailed step-by-step guide for Importers and Authorized Customs Brokers for accessing the application, submission of examination scheduling requests, viewing and rescheduling examination slots, tracking examination status, and utilising the various functionalities available under the system- based E-scheduling of Cargo Examination on ICEGATE 2.0. The advisory is enclosed herewith for reference. 8. All Importers, Customs Brokers, Custodians and concerned stakeholders are advised to make effective use of this facility for timely examination and clearance of imported goods. 9.  Difficulties, if any, in implementation of this Public Notice may be brought to the notice of the Additional Commissioner of Customs, Technical (Import), ACC, Mumbai (email: pro.acc-sahar@gov.in).
