Now, it has been learnt that in some cases the validity of licenses were extended till lifetime vide Public Notice No. 203/2021 dated 19.01.2022, however, same were not updated on EDI system. As a measure of trade facilitation, the validity of licenses operating under regulation 7 (2) of the Customs Broker Licen_ing Regulations 2018 in Mumbai policy section has been updated to lifetime on EDI system in terms of the Board's letter dated 23.12.2024. The undersigned is directed to say that references have been received in the Board that at present across the country considerable Customs Brokers licenses are having an expiry date of 31.12.2024. 2. It is mentioned that the CBIC vide Notification No. 62/2021-Customs (N.T.) dated 23.07.2021 provided all the Customs Brokers licenses lifetime validity. However, licenses which issued before this notification have validity for a specific period under Customs EDI system and CBLMS. It needs to be ensured that Customs Brokers Licenses in the Customs EDI system and CBLMS systems have the expiry validity as has been legaly permitted. 3. In view of the above, it is requested that all the Customs jurisdictions ensure the license validity in the EDI System and CBLMS System for all Customs Brokers in terms of extant legal provisions.
