No.: GEN/CB/PN/4/2021-CBS DIN: 20270979 JOO0 000 021-4 PUBLIC NOTICENo, 32. /202? ; . ™ - etakeholders is invited to Kind Attention of all Customs Brokers and all other St . hanaes Notificationin No. $2/2022-Customs (N.1) dated 24.06.2022 vicle which following COTY® Regulation 20 and also inserted the following Regulation21. under CBLR, 2018, whl are as follows:(i) In Regulation 20, fot sub-regulations (1) and (2) the following subregulations shall respectively be substituted, namely:-

"(1) Each Customs Broker shall enrol himself as a member of the Customs Brokers’ Association at every jurisdiction he operates, if there is such an Association registered in the Customs Station, where the Customs Broker ts operating and recognized by the Principal Commissioner of Customs or Commussioner of Customs, as the case may be. (2) No Customs Broker shall enroll himself in more than one Association, at 2 given time, in a particularjurisdiction”. (ii) After Regulation 20, the following regulation shall be inserted,

namely:-

“21. Power to relax:- Where an applicant or a Customs Broker or NACIN makes a representation to the Board that he or it, as the case may be, Is unable to comply with his or its duties or obligations within the time period es specified under any provision of these regulations, for the reasons beyond his or its control, but otherwise satisfy all other conditions, if any, as provided under such provision, the Board may, after consideration of the representation, and for reasons to be recorded in writing, allow a further time period for compliance ofsuch duties or obligations”.

2: In view of this, all the Customs Brokers, who are registered & operating under the jurisdiction of Mumbai Customs Commissionerate, are advised to enrol themselves as a member of Brihanmumbai Custom Brokers Association (BCBA), 73/74 C, Mittal Tower, 7'” Floor, Nariman Point, Mumbai - 400 021.
