Sub: List of commodities tested & minimum quantity required for Chemical Examination at NCH Laboratory, Mumbai – reg.

Attention of Importers, Customs Brokers, other members of Trade and Industry is invited to list of facilities available in the New Custom House Laboratory, NCH Mumbai, to test the items/commodities mentioned in column no.3 of table below. In order to standardize the requirement and avoid unnecessary delays in sample testing, the minimum quantity of the sample required for complete analysis for different items/commodities are mentioned in column no.4 of the list. Every sample bottle/packet/container is to be mandatorily sealed in a tamper proof manner and labelled properly in a legible manner with individual test memo forwarded to New Custom House Laboratory, NCH Mumbai (in duplicate).

All the officers posted at Docks/Groups are hereby directed to forward the sample for items in column 3 with minimum quantity mentioned against them in the column 4 of the table below to New Custom House Laboratory, NCH Mumbai for testing: Commodities analysed in DYCC laboratory, NCH, Mumbai

Note- All the samples should be packed in a tamper proof container & sealed with departmental seal.

Liquid samples should be leakage proof & sealed in plastic container/bottle.

Capacity of the containers required.

A: - 1 litre / 1000 gm.

B: - 500 ml. /500 gm.

C: - 250 ml. /250 gm.

Only one sample should be forwarded by the proper officer as authorized by Commissioner Customs (Import/Export) of Mumbai Customs, Zone-I with one test memo to the DYCC laboratory. The duplicate sample is to be kept in the Central Sampling Cell/investigating unit as the case may be.

This public notice should be considered as Standing Order for the purpose of officers and staff of NCH and is applicable to all the Commissionerates of Mumbai Zone-I.

  1. Any difficulty in implementation of this public notice may be brought to the notice of Addl. Commissioner of Customs (G) in charge of NCH lab.
