Subject: Launch of Indian Customs EDI System (ICES 1.5)

for Import and Export and Commencement of operations at NAVI MUMBAI INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT (NMIA), NAVI MUMBAI.

Kind attention of Importers, Exporters, Customs Brokers, other stakeholders and Trade Associations is invited to CBIC Notification No. 15/2025-CUSTOMS (N.T.) dated 24.03.2025 issued under Section 7(1) (a) of the Customs Act, 1962, wherein, Navi Mumbai International Airport (NMIA) notified as Customs Port for the purpose of unloading of imported goods and the loading of export goods or any class of such goods.

2. The Commissioner of Customs, General Commissionerate, Air Cargo Complex , Mumbai Customs Zone -III vide Notification No. 79/2026 dated 10.03.2025 issued under Section 8(a) of the Customs Act, 1962 has approved Navi Mumbai International Airport, at Ulwe, Navi Mumbai Maharashtra, India PIN-410206, as a place of landing for “unloading of imported goods and the loading of export goods or any class of such goods” and notified the area under Section 8(b) of the said Act specified the limits of the Customs area of the Navi Mumbai International Airport.
3. The Commissioner of Customs, Export Commissionerate, Air Cargo Complex , Mumbai Customs Zone -III, vide Public Notice no. 13/2026 File No. II/(39)/OTH/2361/2022-CHS-O/o COMMR-CUS- GEN-Zone-III-Mumbai dated 23.06.2026, issued under Section 45 of the Customs Act, 1962, has appointed M/s Navi Mumbai International Airport Private Limited hereinafter referred to as II/(39)/OTH/2361/2022-CHS-O/o COMMR-CUS-GEN-Zone-III-Mumbai I/4370322/2026

NMIAL, as Custodian (Customs Cargo Service Provider(CCSP)) of cargo to be imported/exported by all Airlines handled by NMIAL for the purpose of safe custody at Air Cargo Complex, Navi Mumbai International Airport, Navi Mumbai, until they are cleared for home consumption or for warehousing or for transshipment in accordance with the provisions laid down under the Customs Act, 1962. 4. The Principal Chief Controller of Accounts, CBIC, New Delhi, vide office Memorandum issued under F.No.48/Coord/2(1)/Navi Mumbai/2026-27/47 dated 02.07.2026 has conveyed the approval for authorisation of State Bank of India Navi Mumbai International Airport Admin Building, Ulwe (BSR Code:0065273) for Customs duty collection under EDI in respect of Navi Mumbai International Airport (Location Code: INNMI4). 5.     Further, the pre-production trials for EDI connectivity were completed by the team of officers, and the report was submitted to DG Systems, CBIC, New Delhi.

6. Accordingly, the computerized processing of Bills of Entry and Shipping Bills under the Indian Customs EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) System, (ICES 1.5) under pre-production trials has been completed on 09.07.2026 at Navi Mumbai International Airport (INNMI4), at Ulwe, Navi Mumbai Maharashtra, India PIN- 410206
7.
