CLARIFICATION REGARDING OPERATION OF HORIZONTAL RESERVATION IN THE RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF CANTEEN ATTENDANT (GROUP-C) Reference is invited to the Recruitment Notice dated 30.09.2025 issued vide Employment News weekly edition 18 - 24.10.2025 for recruitment to the post of Canteen Attendant (Group-C) through Direct Recruitment. 2. This office has received various communications/representations, including references seeking clarification tegarding the applicability and operation of horizontal reservation for Ex-Servicemen (ESM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) in the aforesaid recruitment process.

In this regard, it is clarified that the provisions relating to reservation, age relaxation and other concessions for various categorics of candidates, including ExServicemen (ESM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD), are governed by the Recntitment Rules applicable to the post and the instructions/orders issued by the Government of India from time to time. 4. The Recruitment Rules governing the post of Canteen Attendant (Group-C) provide that reservation and allied concessions for SC/ST/OBC/EWS/ExServicemen/Persons with Benchmark Disabilities shall be regulated in accordance with the extant instructions issued by the Government of India.

5: Accordingly, the provisions relating to horizontal reservation for ExServicemen (SM) and Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PWBD), as prescribed under the applicable Government instructions and reflected in the approved reservation roster maintained for the cadre, have always been applicable to the present recruitment process.

6. It is further clarified that, during the recruitment process, the admit cards/hall tickets issued by the Department contained the caiegory ficld in the format: "Category — (General/SC/ST/OBC/WS/PwD/ESM)"
