Procedure for cancellation of Out of Charge (OOC)

Subject: Procedure for cancellation of Out of Charge (OOC) – reg.

    Attention of all Importers, Customs Brokers, Custodians/CFSs and other stakeholders is invited towards the procedure to be followed henceforth for cancellation of Out of Charge (OOC) for imported goods. i. A request letter/mail for cancellation of OOC, mentioning the grounds, shall be submitted to DC/AC (Import Assessment), DE, as the case may be, with a copy to the CFS where goods are lying. ii. The CFS shall confirm to DC/AC over mail/letter that goods are physically still available in CFS. iii. The AC/DC shall examine the request and cancel the OOC and communicate the same to both importer and CFS. iv. Where the goods are not physically available, OOC should be cancelled only after getting approval from ADC / JC v. Where in doubt or need clarity, DC/AC can put up the file to ADC/JC for guidance.   This issues with the approval of Commissioner of Customs.
