Sub: Examination/Inspection of goods under import without Delivery Order — reg.

1. In view of the request from the Trade and the practice as followed in Chennai Scacwaiin vide Circular No. 12/2012 dated 29/12/2012 and Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House vide Public PaTieE No. 65/2012 dated 05/12/2012 it has been decided that in order to reduce the cost/dwell Wee of clearance of cargo the inspection/examination of the goods will be allowed by the Customs Officers without any insistence of Delivery Order. Mumbai Port and Importer shall present the goods for inspection/examination of the cargo as soon as the goods are registered for examination. However, the cargo may only be released after production of Delivery Order.

2. This facility notice will be effective from the date of issue. Any problem faced in this regard may be brought to the notice of Addl. Commissioner of Customs (Import).
