1. M/s Container Corporation of India Ltd (a Public Sector Undertaking) approached this office seeking to revoke notification pertaining to declaration of 1,05, 100 Sq. Mtrs of land situated at Nanipada Village Road, Near New Mulund Goods Depot, Central Railway, Mulund (East), Mumbai  400 081 (known as ICD Mulund, East) as Customs area.
2. (i) Under Section 8 of The Customs Act, 1962 vide Notification issued from File No. S/19-Misc.45/Docks dated 09.11.1995 the area of 96,000 sq. meters was designated as a Container Freight Station having specifications mnentioned below: A. On the East B. On the West C. On the North D. On the South import/export cargo. And located at Nanipada Village Road, Near New Mulund Goods Depot, Central Railway, Mulund (East), Mumbai 400 081 was notified as Customs Area, for the purpose of examination, destuffing and clearance of containerised import cargo and transhipment of A. On the East

• Salt Commissioner Land B. On the West -Central Railway Mulund Goods shed C. On the North D. On the South Adjoining the C. Rly. Entry to goods shed. Goregaon Link Road. (ii) Further, additional area of 9,100 sq.

3. Thereon, CBEC appointed Mulund (Mumbai) as Inland Container Depot under Section 7 of The Customs Act, 1962 vide Notification No. 177/2009 CUSTOMS (N.T) dated 11.12.2009 by inserting the name Mulund (Mumbai) against serial number 9, relating to the State of Maharashtra in

the principle Notification No. 12/97-0ustoms (N.T) dated 02.04.1997 [G.S.R. No. 193E dated 12.04.1997]. T n pursuance of the Board Notification No. 177/2009 dated 11.12.2009 the total 1,05,100 Sq. Mtrs (96,000+9,100) of land was declared as Customs area vide Notification No. 01/2010 - CUS(G) issued from File No S/23-Tech-105/2010 dated 15.03.2010, as a place for unloading of Imported goods and loading of export goods.
