Sub : Pending drawback claims due to non-submission of query replies.

Attention of all the exporters, customs brokers, other stakeholders and members of the trade is invited to the fact that a large number of drawback claims are pending due to non-submission of reply to query raised. Detailed list of such drawback Shipping Bills is attached as ‘Annexure-A’. Several reminders have already been issued to the exporters to submit their reply so that their drawback claim can be processed but no reply has been received till date. It is the responsibility of the Exporters/CBs/Other stakeholders to check the status of their drawback claim against a shipping bill through ICEGATE and if any query is raised by the drawback section, they should submit their reply after viewing the status. 2. Therefore, all exporters whose Shipping Bills are pending at query queue as listed in ‘Annexure-A’ should submit their reply in ICES system immediately so that their claim can be processed. 3.

However, in light of no reply to queries within 30 days after issuance of the Facility Notice from the Exporters/CBs/Other Stakeholders, their claims would be processed as under zero drawback in absence of the requisite documents/clarifications without affecting the right of the exporter to claim the drawback amount by filing supplementary claim subsequently. 4. The exporters can then file the supplementary claims as per Rule 16 of the Duty Drawback Rules, 2017 along with the requisite documents/clarifications within stipulated time period as specified in law wherein their drawback claims have been processed @ ZERO.
