Subject: Import of Covid related Goods - Creation of Task Force for swift

clearance and safe-guard against unserupulous Importers - reg. Due to the increased impact of the Covid-19 situation in the country, the imports and exports of the goods meant for the treatment of Citizens, require swift and scrupulous clearance from Customs. The Board vide their letter F.No. 450/153/2017- Cus-IV dated 21.04.2021 (copy enclosed) has already issued an instruction that these goods are to be cleared on top priority. 2. It is brought to the notice of all Importers, Exporters, Customs Brokers, Custodians, Trade and all concerned, that a Taskforce under Additional Commissioner Shri Ayaz Ahmed Kohli (mail id: avaz kohli@gov.in, Mob: 9810286644) is constituted for clearance of Covid related goods. He will be assisted by Shri Sachin Pagare, Assistant Commissioner (mail id: sachin.pagare@gov.in , Mob: 9820576446), Shri Radhanath Purohit, Deputy Commissioner (mail id: radhanath.purohit@gov.in, Mob: 9920784675), Shri Dr. Dhumal Shridhar Tanaji, Deputy Commissioner (mail id: 1S shridhar.dhumal@gov.in and Mob: 7020993466) and Shri Sanjeev Rao, Appraising Officer (mail id: sanieevrr.c089101@gov.in Mob: 7507560502). The taskforce will examine all the imports requested for priority clearance stating Covid reasons and give clearance on top priority. The taskforce will make arrangement for 24x7 clearance Clearances beyond office hours shall be on an on-call basis. 3. Trade is advised to get in touch with the members of this task force and seek to expedite such clearances 4.

In para 21 of said order dated 20th April, 2021, the Hon'ble Court has directed that import of equipments for setting up RT-PCR test labs, medical equipments etc should be handled and cleared at top priority by the Customs. The Hon'ble Court has directed the Central Government to issue necessary directions in this regard. 2. 3.
