No. IBBI/PR/2024/12 28th June, 2024 Press Release Third International Research Conference on Insolvency and Bankruptcy being organized by Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India in association with ISB Hyderabad from 02nd July 2024 – 03rd July 2024. The Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India (IBBI) in collaboration with the Indian School of Business, Hyderabad (ISB) is organizing the third International Research Conference on Insolvency and Bankruptcy. The two-day research conference is being held from 02nd July 2024 (Tuesday) – 03rd July 2024 (Wednesday) at the ISB campus at Hyderabad. 2. The conference will be inaugurated by Chief Guest, Hon’ble Shri Ramalingam Sudhakar, President NCLT. The special addresses will be delivered by Guest of Honour, Dr. Manoj Govil, Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs and Mr. Ravi Mital, Chairperson, IBBI. Mr. Paul Bannister, Head of Policy, Insolvency Service, UK will deliver a keynote lecture during the Conference. Mr. Madan Pillutla, Dean and Professor, ISB will deliver a welcome address and Dr. Sanjay Kallapur, Professor, ISB will deliver a Vote of thanks.

3. The two-day conference is open to professionals interested and engaged in insolvency and bankruptcy processes and its multi-disciplinary aspects. This conference aims to act as a forum for academic researchers, professionals, financial creditors and policy makers to discuss impending issues on making the IBC more effective as an institutional mechanism.

The conference is expected to generate ideas for exploring future evolution and finding solutions to challenges that lie ahead. During the conference, professionals and scholars of economics, law, finance banking academia, and management will present their take on various topics in the insolvency domain.

4. The conference will offer a unique opportunity to listen to thought leaders and policy makers in the two panel discussions planned in addition to around 26 research papers presentations. There will be panel discussions on ‘Investment in Distressed Assets: The Road Ahead’ and ‘Need for speed: Fast tracking IBC’. These panel discussions will offer thought leadership of the leading luminaries from Government, Industry, Legal practitioners and Academicians.

5. A publication titled, ‘Evolution of Indian Insolvency Ecosystem and way forward’ containing 7 research papers that emerged out of a collaboration of Insolvency and Bankruptcy Board of India and British High Commission under the FCDO programme will be released during the Conference.
