CORRIGENDUM IN THE MINUTES OF 20th MEETING OF ESZ EXPERT COMMITTE HELD ON 05.07.2016 IN MINISTRY OF ENVIRONMENT, FOREST & CLIMATE CHANGE

Agenda Item 5.3: Sanjay Gandhi National Park On the basis of Government of Maharashtra letter No. Desk/23(2)/Survey/C.R.43 (VII)/1596/2016-17 dated 26.07.2016 from the Office of Principal Chief Cosnervator of Forests (HQFF), the following corrections are made: 1. The sentence “A 45-60m wide JVLR (Jogeshwari-Vichroli-Link Road) is proposed.” is replaced by the sentence: “A 45-60m wide JVLR (Jogeshwari- Vichroli-Link Road) exists.”

On page 8, 5th line: “It was informed that as per Government of Maharashtra Policy dated 21.10.2015, only 20% area of a land can be constructed or fenced in regions adjoining Protected Areas and the rest has to be developed as wilderness” is deleted as the provisions of Government of Policy dated 21.10.2015 are in relation to the Protected Areas which are Tiger Reserves only or in rural areas not for urban areas such as the Sanjay Gandhi National Park.

On page 8, line 15th, 2nd Para, “Some activities such as new constructions, hotels and resorts and commercial mining are prohibited” is replaced by the sentence “Some activities such as new constructions of hotels, resorts and commercial mining should be prohibited”
