MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion) NOTIFICATION New Delhi, the 23rd January, 2019 G.S.R. 44(E).—WHEREAS the draft of certain rules further to amend the Gas Cylinder Rules, 2016 were published as required by Section 18 of the Explosives Act, 1884 (4 of 1884) in the Gazette of India, Extraordinary, Part II, Section 3, Sub-Section (i), dated the 14th November, 2018, vide notification of the Government of India in the Ministry of Commerce and Industry (Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion) number G.S.R. 1109(E), dated the 13th November, 2018 inviting objections and suggestions from all persons likely to be affected thereby, before the expiry of a period of thirty days from the date on which the copies of the Official Gazette containing the said notification were made available to the public;
AND WHEREAS, the copies of the said Gazette were made available to the public on the
14th November, 2018;
AND WHEREAS, no objections and suggestions were received from the public on the said draft rules;
NOW, THEREFORE, in exercise of the powers conferred by sections 5 and 7 of the Explosives
Act, 1884 (4 of 1884), the Central Government hereby makes the following rules further to amend the Gas Cylinder Rules, 2016, namely:- 1. Short title and commencement.—(1) These rules may be called the Gas Cylinders (Amendment)
Rules, 2019.
(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2.

(2) They shall come into force on the date of their publication in the Official Gazette. 2. In the Gas Cylinders Rules,2016, in rule 48, after sub-rule (3), the following sub-rule shall be inserted, namely:—
“(3A) The requirement of “No Objection Certificate” from District Authority under sub-rule (2) shall not be applicable for a licence in form “G” forming part of a service station licensed in form XIV under the Petroleum Rules, 2002.”.
