Sub: Drawal of Samples for Testing by Textile Committee – regarding.

Attention of all the officers and concerned staff of JNCH is invited to the Standing Operating Procedure (SOP) with regard to sample size available on official website of Textile Committee of India. Since, the sample for testing by Textile Committee is drawn by the officers posted in Docks, it is incumbent upon them to abide by the said SOP while drawing the sample. The said SOP is reproduced below for knowledge and compliance by the concerned staff.

RECOMMENDED (MINIMUM) SIZE OF SAMPLE FOR TESTING Fibre 250 grams (Minimum) Yarn 30 mini cones containing ½ hank each or 15 cones containing double hank or in double hank Fabric 1 mtr. X full width or more depending on the number of test parameters. Made ups/Ready Made Garments 1 full piece. Effluents
2 litres. Dyes/Pigments 10 grams (sealed in plastic bags.)

Any deviation from the above should be only with valid reason or due to any genuine practical problem.

In case of any difficulty, the specific issue may be brought to the notice of ADC/ JC, Appraising Main (IMPORT), NS-I or DC/AC in charge of Appraising Main (Import), NS-I.
