Sub: Post Shipment Amendment in Shipping Bills - Instructions–reg.

Attention of Officers of JNCH, particularly Assistant/Deputy Commissioners posted at Export Docks, JNPT (All Clusters) is invited to this Custom House Public Notice No. 88/2017, dated 05.07.2017 on the subject “Procedure for amendment/conversion of free shipping bills to export promotion shipping bills and amendment/conversion of shipping bills from one scheme to another scheme”.

As per para 2.B of the said public notice: “Any request for post shipment amendments in the shipping bills shall be processed at Centralised Export Assessment Cell (CEAC)” and the procedure has been explained in detail.

However, it has come to notice that some officers other than those posted in CEAC are processing post shipment amendment requests to issue amendment certificated which is not as per the procedure laid down.

Therefore, officers not posted in Centralised Export Assessment Cell (CEAC) are directed to refrain from issuing any post shipment amendment certificate. Any deviation from the procedure as laid down in Public Notice No. 88/2017 dated 05.07.2017 may be brought to the notice of Deputy / Assistant Commissioner in charge of Appraising Main (Export) through email / phones (email address: apmainexp@jawaharcustoms.gov.in, Phone No : 022-27244959). A list of such certificates already issued are also required to be brought to notice.
