Standing Order No. 04/2017

Sub:- Partial modification in the Standing Order No.79/2016 JNCH dated 26.12.2016 on the subject of ‘Delay of more than 20 days in presentation of Bill of Entry along with all requisite documents for assessment, registration, examination or out of charge’ – Reg.

Attention of all the staff members is invited to the Standing Order No.79/2016 JNCH dated 26.12.2016 on the subject ‘Delay of more than 20 days in presentation of Bill of Entry along with all requisite documents for assessment, registration, examination or out of charge’.

In this connection, it is to inform that para 3 of the above mentioned standing order has been modified and the same may be read as mentioned below:

“As a measure to ensure faster clearances, reduce dwell time of cargo and as a step towards ‘Ease of Doing Business’, it is directed that wherever there is a delay in presentation of Bill of Entry for assessment, registration, examination or out of charge for more than 20 days from the date of Bill of Entry (date of entry inwards in case of advance Bill of Entry), on the part of Importer/Customs Broker, prior approval/NOC of Deputy Commissioner of Customs, Appraising Main shall be taken before attending to such Bill of Entry.”

These instructions may be implemented with immediate effect and difficulties, if any, faced in implementation of these instructions may be brought to the notice of the undersigned.
