STANDING ORDER NO. 14/2017 Sub: Levy of Fees (Customs Documents) Amendment Regulations, 2017. Attention of all the officers in the jurisdiction of the Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House (JNCH) is invited to Notification No. 36 /2017- Cus. (N.T.) dated 11.04.2017. Wherein the Central Board of Excise and Customs made the regulations further to amend the Levy of Fees (Customs Documents) Regulations, 1970. These Regulations are called ‘Levy of Fees (Customs Documents) Amendment Regulations, 2017’.
2. Para 2(1)(ix) of the Levy of Fees (Customs Documents) Amendment Regulations, 2017 is reproduced as under: “(ix) (a) amendment of prior Bill of Entry filed under the proviso to subsection (3) of subsection 46 of the Customs Act, 1962 (52 of 1962). Nil;
(b) amendment of Bill of Entry other than those at (a) above. Rs.1000.00.”

In view of above, it is abundantly clear that the said Regulations have prescribed no amendment fees to be charged in case of amendment of prior Bills of Entry.

All the Officers are hereby instructed to follow the above mentioned provisions scrupulously. Difficulties, if any, in this regard may be brought to the notice of the Assistant Commissioner, EDI through e-mail (edi@jawaharcustoms.gov.in). In case of any doubt, All Assistant / Deputy Commissioners / Appraisers / Superintendent should provide necessary assistance to the person making payment of amendment fee.
