Attention is invited to Board's Circular No. 17 /2025-Customs dated 19.06.2025 issued vide F. No. 450/ 128/2024-Cus IV on the above- mentioned subject (copy enclosed). 2. To facilitate paperless examination of export consignments, an android ICETAB application for ICES Export examination has been developed by Directorate General of Systems and Data Management, CBIC, New Delhi. This application aims to improve the efficiency, transparency and speed in export examination and clearances. 3. ICETAB provides the examining officers mobile access to the ICES application in customs cargo sheds and helps them to submit examination reports in ICES immediately on completion of the examination. The tablet device has facilities like viewing the Shipping Bill details, viewing of supporting documents uploaded in e-sanchit, viewing RMS instructions, viewing examination order, taking photos of the export consignment, preview photos taken and submit the examination report. 4. ICETAB enables officers to submit examination reports directly on the mobile device through a user-friendly interface wherein an officer can upload up to 4 pictures taken during examination.

The photos and the examination report will get uploaded and the Shipping Bill would get pushed to the EXAM_SUP queue on submission of examination report. 5. Further, attention is invited to Advisory No. 34 /2025 dated 19.06.2025 issued by the DG Systems regarding launch of ICETAB for submitting examination report in EXAM INS role for Export Clearance, the above advisory along with the instructions and screenshots is attached. 6. Docks, JNCH are hereby directed to approach EDI section for allotment of ICETABs and obtain VPN access for their respective devices.

  1. In cases of exigencies where the officers are unable to submit examination reports using ICETAB, prior permission of concerned Assistant/Deputy Commissioner of Customs (Docks) may be obtained and same may be recorded in the examination report. The CCSP Cell, JNCH under the charge of Commissioner of Customs (NS-Gen), JNCH shall ensure network connectivity for efficient functioning of ICETABs.

Please refer to DG Systems & Data Management letter dated 11.06.2024 regarding Enrolment-guide for new ICETABs/Tablets provided by M/s. BEL under IT Infrastructure Contract (Advisory no. 1/2024 Infranet) and the ICETAB Enrolment Guide for CBIC officers. 2. To facilitate paperless cargo examination and customs clearance process in exports, an android ICETAB application for ICES Export examination has been developed in ICES. This application aims to improve the efficiency, transparency and speed of export examination and clearances. 3. ICETAB provides the examining officers mobile access to the ICES application in the customs cargo sheds and help them submit their examination report in ICES immediately on completion of the examination. The tablet device has facilities like preview of photos taken, viewing the Shipping Bill details, viewing of supporting documents uploaded in e-sanchit, viewing RMS instructions and examination order which would make the work of examining officer easy. 4. The ICETAB would enable customs officer to enter examination report directly on the mobile device through a user-friendly interface as well as upload up to 4 pictures taken during examination using the ICETAB camera. Once all photographs (upto four) have been taken, the officer can preview the photos and can upload the photos. The photos taken on the ICETAB can also be viewed in the AIO through SB enquiry option under Supporting documents tab.

Instructions to be followed while using ICETAB in Exports:

  1. Install the latest version of the application (ICES_Prod_17June2025) from app store.
  2. After connecting VPN, open the latest version of ICETAB exports application in ICETAB and login with SSOID.
  3. After successful login, a new screen will appear, click continue.
  4. A new screen will be opened, having roles in ICETAB-ICES mentioned. Click on the role.
  5. A new screen will be opened having a list of apps i.e., Examination report entry, view SB, List of supporting documents.
  6. For feeding examination report, click on the relevant option.
  7. A new screen “Examination Order” will be opened. Enter the SB no. and SB date; Site ID will be auto populated. After entering the details, click on the “Proceed” button only once and wait for few seconds for the SB details to get opened. Remember to not click proceed button multiple times.
  8. Enter the examination report, at the end of the page, click on “Submit Examination Report with/ without images”. After clicking on the option “Submit Examination Report with images”, officer can submit up to 4 images and upload all of them.
