Subject:- Practice of assessment of goods under Chapter 25 and Chapter 26- review thereof

Representation has been received from the trade that the consignments of goods covered under Chapter 25 and Chapter 26 are being assessed provisionally in Group with test bond, which causes delay is clearing their consignment. As per practice in Group, all the products falling under Chapter 25 and Chapter 26 are being assessed provisionally on Test Bond. In view of the representation received from Trade, the practice of provisional assessment of products under Chapter 25 and 26 has been reviewed and it has been decided that henceforth the assessment of products under Chapter 25 and 26 will be 2. done in the following manner; 3 In cases where importer is a manufacturer and a valid Previous Test Report (PTR) (not more than 6 months old covering the identical goods, grade, specifications, C00 and supplier) is available with importer then in such cases Bill of Entry shall be finally assessed on second check basis subject to the following conditions: () Importer has to upload the PTR on E-sanchit. (i) Importer has to declare details of relied upon valid PTR in description field of Bil of Entry. 4. Difficulties, if any, may be brought to the notice of Deputy/Assistant Commissioner of Customs, Gr. 1/1A, NS-1, JNCH (e-mail ID: group-1inch@gov.in).
