PUBLIC NOTICE NO. - 68/2021 DIN- 20210778NW0000419844 Sub: Comprehensive Stakeholder Consultation regarding specified Notifications and exemption entries- reg Attention of all Importers/Exporters, Custom Brokers and other stakeholders is invited to DOF No. CBIC-190352/1/2021-TRU dated 09.07.2021 issued by Special Secretary & Member, CBIC (copy enclosed) on the above subject.
2. In the Budget Speech of 2021-22, Hon'ble Finance Minister, had announced that a comprehensive time- bound review of 400 old Customs duty exemptions currently in force, would be undertaken to identify those which may have become outdated/redundant and thus require modification or rescission and a revised customs duty structure, free of distortions shall be prescribed by 1 October, 2021. For the said purpose suggestions have also been called for review of specific entries through crowdsourcing route using MyGov Innovate platform wherein people can give their suggestions regarding the specified notifications or the specified exemption entries. The same can be accessed through the URL (https://innovateindia.mygov.in/suggestions-for-review-of-customs- duty-exemptions). The last date to submit the suggestions/recommendations in the format enclosed at Annexure is 10.08.2021. 3. All the Stakeholders, including importers, exporters, domestic industry, trade associations and public are hereby made aware about this initiative and are encouraged to offer their suggestions on MyGov innovate portal using the above mentioned online facility. The Trade bodies are also requested to give wide publicity of this exercise amongst their members.
