PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 81/2020

The area admeasuring 107748.92 sq. mtr. of M/s. Punjab State Container & Warehousing Corporation Limited located at Sector 2, Plot No. 2, Dronagiri Node, Taluka Uran, Distt. Raigad, Maharashtra was declared as a Customs notified area vide Notification No. 02/99 dated 28.07.1999. M/s. Punjab State Container & Warehousing Corporation Limited was appointed as ‘Custodian’ and ‘Customs Cargo Services Provider’ vide last Notification No. 26/2015 dated 09.06.2015, has been renewed for duration of 5 years from 15.03.2015. 2. Now, in exercise of the powers conferred on me under Section 45(1) and 141 (2) of the Customs Act, 1962, I, Sanjay Mahendru, Commissioner of Customs (General), JNCH, hereby renew the appointment of M/s. Punjab State Container & Warehousing Corporation Limited as ‘Custodian’ of the imported goods received at the Container Freight Station M/s. Punjab State Container & Warehousing Corporation Limited until these are cleared for home consumption or are warehoused or are transshipped in accordance with the provision of Chapter VIII of the Customs Act, 1962. Similarly, M/s. Punjab State Container & Warehousing Corporation Limited will also be the ‘Custodian’ of the Export Cargo brought into said Container Freight Station, for examination and stuffing till their exportation through Jawaharlal Nehru Port. 3. Further, in exercise of the powers conferred on me under Regulation 10 of the ‘Handling of Cargo in Customs Areas Regulations 2009’, I, Sanjay Mahendru, Commissioner of Customs (General), JNCH, hereby renew the approval of M/s. Punjab State Container & Warehousing Corporation Limited as the ‘Customs Cargo Services Provider’ for the CFS M/s. Punjab State Container & Warehousing Corporation Limited subject to following conditions: (i) The Custodian M/s. Punjab State Container & Warehousing Corporation Limited approved as ‘Customs Cargo Services Provider’ for the said CFS shall abide by all the provisions of the Customs Act, 1962, the rules of the ‘Handling of Cargo in Customs Areas Regulations, 2009’, and other regulations, notifications, orders issued there under.

(ii) The duration of appointment of M/s. Punjab State Container & Warehousing Corporation Limited as ‘Custodian’ and as ‘Customs Cargo Services Provider’ shall remain valid for five (5) years from 15.03.2020.
(iii) The Commissioner of Customs (General), JNCH, shall have the Right to review the approval as ‘Customs Cargo Services Provider’ before the completion of five years for failure to comply with any of Regulations of the ‘Handling of Cargo in Customs Areas Regulations, 2009’ or as per the directions of the Government of India.
