Forwarding of samples for testing to the Outside Laboratories

Subject: Forwarding of samples for testing to the Outside Laboratories-reg.

In continuation of earlier Public Notice No. 20/2019 & Public Notice No. 38/2019, dated-30.04.2019, it is observed that a large numbers of samples pertaining to Gr.-I are still pending for testing and most of them are first check samples. This is adversely affecting the testing of other samples as well and causing hardship to trade. The issue was discussed with Lab in-charge of DYCC Lab, JNCH and it has been decided that as a temporary measure, extension of 02 month w.e.f. 30/07/2019 is granted for testing the samples in the laboratory mentioned in following table. As per section 145 of the CA 1962, the importer/owner, of the goods has to bear the cost of testing for the above notified Lab. 3. In case of any difficulty, the specific issue may be brought to the notice of the Deputy/Assistant Commissioner of Customs in Charge of DYCC, JNCH. 4. Action to be taken in terms of decisions taken in this Public Notice should be considered as Standing Order for the purpose of officers and staff.
