Minutes of the 15" Meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) to consider applications for recognition as Pre-shipment Inspection Agency (PSIA)

The 15" Meeting of the IMC was held on 19.11.2020 in Room No. 4, H-wing, Udyog Bhawan under the Chairmanship of Shri Hardeep Singh, Addl. DGFT to consider:

i. Applications deferred in the 15" Meeting of PSIA held on 24.09.2020, ii. | Consideration of fresh applications for ‘enlistment as PSIAs. 2: The following members attended the meeting: i. Shri S.P. Roy, Joint DGFT ii. Shri B.K. Singh, SO/F,AERB iii. Shri Ajeet Singh, SO(D), AERB iv. Shri Nirmal Kumar, Dy. DGFT

3. A total of 08 applications were received. Out of these 08 applications, 07 applications were for empanelment as PSIA and extension of period of validity as PSIA and 01 applicant had applied for addition of instruments and addition of area of operation.

4. The Committee decided that no further applications would be considered for enlistment as PSIA. 2 After examination of the fresh documents submitted by the applicants, the Committee decided the applications as under:

6. The committee further noted that as per Para-2.55 (f), “a PSIA can also carry out inspections in countries, where it does not have a full time equipped branch office but which falls within its area of operation, by deputing its inspectors. However, for such inspections in other countries, the PSIA will be required to give prior intimation to DGFT by sending an e-mail (at psia-travel-dgft@gov.in) and furnishing details of visit/inspection done by the Inspector in PSIC.” Accordingly, the committee decided that a regular monitoring of the same is ensured.
