oN “Minutes of the 12™ meeting of the Inter-ministerial Committee (IMC) to consider applications for recognition as Pre-Shipment Inspection Agency (PSIA)

The 12" meeting of the Inter-Ministerial Committee (IMC) was held on 9.2.2018 in Room No. 11, H-Wing, Udyog Bhavan, New Delhi at 11.00 am under the Chairmanship of Shri K.C. Rout, Addl. DGFT to consider the applications of deferred cases for recognition as Pre-shipment Inspection Agency (PSIA). The following members attended the meeting:

• (i) Shri S.P. Roy, Jt. DGFT (ii) Shri B.K. Singh, SO, AERB

• (iif) Shri Ajeet Singh, SO, AERB

• (iv) Shri Sandeep Chauhan, Development Officer, DIPP

2. The Committee noted that 32 PSIAs have been notified in Appendix 2G and 6 PSIAs have been recommended in the 11" meeting of PSIA, 38 PSIAs are operating at the moment. Further as per Public Notice No. 63 dated 27.2.2017, the designated ports for import of un-shredded scrap are required to install Radiation Portal Monitors and Container Scanners by 31.3.2018. It was decided in the ai meeting of PSIA till that time and until further notice no new/fresh applications should be accepted for enlistment of PSIA and the matter may be reviewed in April 2018. Accordingly, the Committee considered only the deferred cases of the previous meetings. Further, the cases deferred in this meeting, for want of documents or any other details will only be considered, if the firm proposes to continue with the PSIA certification system after 31.3.2018.

The Committee also desired that there should be a standard set of explosive detectors and accordingly desired that all nominated agencies be directed to furnish the details of their explosive detector/s being used for the purpose. 4.
