Minutes of the meeting held on 9.5.2018 at 11.00 am in DGFT (HQ), Udyog Bhayan, New Delhi to discuss the cases of import items under Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement In Chair: Shri K.C. Shri Devashish Bhardwaj, Deputy DGFT 3 The Committee noted that the following items are allotted under TRQ under the Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement mentioned in Annexure I to Appendix 2A of FTP, 2015-20 read with Public Notice No. 62 dated 25.2.2016: i. 2- 5. The Committee decided to reject the ineligible applications where short [02810 fees has been paid or where applications were received after the prescribed date. 6. The Spices Board representative pointed out that the CIF value for Pepper quoted by some of the applicants is much below the average yearly price of Pepper in the country. The average figures for the last 5 years as intimated by the Spices Board is at (Annexure VI). Further the Committee was informed that vide notification no. 53/2015-20 dated 21.3.2018 import of Black Pepper below CIF value of Rs. 500/- per kg is prohibited. Accordingly, the Committee noted that there is no relaxation of MIP for import of Black Pepper under Indo-Sri Lanka I’ree Trade Agreement. — 7. Considering that tere are 78 applicants and the total quantity of Black Pepper applied for is 17264 MT, the Committee decided to divide the available quantity(2,500 MT) among the applicants equally. Consequently, each applicant was eligible for 32.05 MT of Black Pepper. However, as 14 applicants have applied for only for 30 MT cach, the Committee decided to grant them 30 MT (the requested quota).

The remaining quantity (2080 MT) was equally divided among the remaining 64 applicants as detailed in Annexure I. 8. As regards Vanaspati and Bakery shortening the available quantity is 2,50,000 MT. the Committee decided to divide the available quantity(2,50,000 MT) among the applicants equally. Consequently, each applicant was cligible for 41666.66 MT Vanaspati and Bakery shortening. However, 3 applicants viz Maruti Exports, ADK Impex and Balaji Oil Industries have applied for 6600 MT, 20,000 MT and 20,000 MT respectively Le. less than 41666.66 MT, the Committee decided to grant them the requested quota. The remaining quantity (203,400 MT) was to be distributed equally among the remaining 3 applicants i.e 67,800 MT each. However, two applicants viz. M/s Sarthak Indistries Ltd. and M/s Anik Industries Ltd. have applied for 65,000 MT each. Accordingly, the Committee decided to allocate the requested quota 65,000 MT each to both of them. The remaining quota (73,400 MT) was allocated to M/s Motan Enterprises as in Annexure I. 9. Further, there was only one application received for import of Desiccated Coconut under Indo-Sri Lanka Free Trade Agreement, the Committee decided to allot 500 MT to the applicant as in Annexure LIL. 10. | With the above decision, the Committee concluded the meeting with thanks to the Chair. ek मेड ये 2 2k ८
