Clarification regarding discontinuation of Scanning of Import Dockets at DMS

Public Notice No. 104/2018 Sub:- Clarification regarding discontinuation of Scanning of Import Dockets at DMS– reg.

Attention of all the Importers, Customs Brokers, other stake holders and members of the trade is invited to Facility Notice No.35/2015 dated 29.04.2015 regarding implementation of the Document Management System in JNCH and earliaer Public Notice No. 87/2018 dated 24.05.2018 wherein it was decided, in view of implementation of e-Sanchit, that DMS Coupons is no more required to be affixed on Import Dockets. However, DMS Coupons must be affixed on Export Dockets. 2. It has been noticed that some CHAs/Exporters are not affixing DMS Coupons on Export Dockets also. 3. In this regard, it is reiterated that it has been decided to discontinue with the DMS with regard to Import Dockets. Therefore, the DMS coupons (worth Rs. 16/-) is no more required to be purchased and affixed to the Import Dockets. However, the procedure as prescribed vide Facility Notice 35/2015 dated 29.04.2015 will continue to be followed for Export Dockets till further orders and DMS coupons must be affixed on Export Dockets. 4. In case of any difficulty, the specific issue may be brought to the notice of Deputy/Assistant Commissioner in charge of Appraising Main (Import), NS-I (email address: appraisingmain.jnch@gov.in ).

This, issues with approval of the Commissioner of Customs, NS-I, Mumbai Zone-II, JNCH. Action to be taken in terms of decisions taken in this Public Notice should be considered as standing order for the purpose of officers and staff
