Subject: Amendment in Notification SO 1761(E) dated 26.04.2018 vide notifying

"Tramadol" as a Psychotropic Substances under Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act, 1985 –reg.

Attention of the Importers, Exporters, custom brokers and all concerned stakeholders is invited towards Notification S.O. 3448(E), dated 13.07.2018 issued by Ministry of Finance (Department of Revenue). Vide aforesaid notification, earlier notification S.O 1761(E) dated 26.04.2018 has been amended as under.

In the said notification, after the Table, the following Note shall be inserted, namely:-

“The licensed manufacturers, importers and exporters of Tramadol shall be covered under the provisions of this notification after the expiry of a period of 120 days of its publication in the Official Gazette.”

In view of the above amendment, the restriction imposed vide notification S.O 1761(E) dated 26.04.2018, shall be effective after expiry of 120 days from the date of Notification i.e 26.04.2018.

The Public Notice no 73/2018 dated 08.05.2018 issued in this regard is amended to the extent accordingly.
The contents of this Public Notice shall operate as a Standing Order so far as officers and staff of Jawaharlal Nehru Custom House are concerned.
