PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 142/2018
Subject: - Mechanism for drawal of representative samples in respect of DPD
FCL containers from Terminals involving sampling by Customs or Participating
Government Agencies (PGAs), operationalising “on-wheel sampling area for DPD
FCL containers” -Reg.
Attention of the Importers, Exporters, General Trade, Port Terminal Operators,
Shipping Lines / Shipping Agents, CFSs coming under the jurisdiction of JNCH, Nhava
Sheva and all other stakeholders is invited to the Public Notice No 63/2018 dated
18.04.2018 for operationalising “on-wheel sampling area for DPD FCL containers”.

The Para 8 of said Public Notice 63/2018 dated 18.04.2018 is reproduced below
for sake of reference:
‘Presently, this facility of “on wheel sampling” is made available to (i)
Representative sealed samples required to be sent to Textile Committee and (ii)
Representative sealed samples required to be tested by DYCC during working
hours only. Also containers containing commodity of heterogeneous nature are
not covered under this facility.’

The above Para stands amended to include other Allied Agencies for on wheel
sampling of DPD FCL Containers and Para 8 should be read as below:
“This facilty of “on wheel sampling” is made available to DPD Importers
where;
(i)
Representative sealed samples required to be send to Textile
Committee,
(ii)
Representative sealed samples required to be tested by DYCC,
(iii)
Sampling by Fertilser Inspector and officers from the office of
Asstt. Drug Controller provided NOC is obtained within 48 hours
of sampling,
(iv)
Sampling of Food / Food based products for testing by FSSAI
authorities where test report is obtained and container can be
released within 48 hours.
(v)
DPD Importers clearing imports of fresh fruits/vegetables and
other perishable goods on provisional NOC given after sampling,
(vi)
Sampling of plant and animal products for testing by PQ and AQ
authorities provided NOC/provisional NOC is obtained within 48
hours of sampling,
However, Containers containing commodity of heterogeneous nature
are not covered under this facility.”
