Subject: Imports of Pulses for the fiscal year 2019-20.
Reference is invited to Trade Notice No.35/2019-20 dated 30.09.2019 wherein it was mentioned that to effectively contain the prices of pulses for the relief of consumers, imports should be effected till 31°' October, 2019, i.e imports should arrive on Indian Ports latest by 31°' October, 2019 and all importers were requested to complete their import by 31.10.2019, failing which the importers would be debarred for allotment of quota of pulses in future.

During last month, this office has received several representations for extension of the date of import of Pulses beyond 31.10.2019. The matter has been examined and it has been decided by the Competent Authority to extend this deadline for import of Toor only till 15‘" November, 2019 i.e. imports should arrive on Indian Ports latest by 15'" November, 2019. It is clarified that there is no extension of deadline beyond 31.10.2019 for import of Urad and Moong.

Importers who have got the quota but do not import the same by the same deadline (31*' October for Urad and Moong and 15" November for Toor), proceedings will be initiated against them under FTDR Act.
This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.
