Subject: Imports of Maize (feed grade) under the TRQ Scheme for 2019-20.

Reference is invited to Trade Notice No.02/2019-20 dated 3rd April, 2019 wherein modalities were laid down for allocation of quota for import of 1 lakh MT of feed grade Maize (corn) under TRQ and Trade Notice No.18/2019-20 dated 14th June, 2019 wherein the quota of 1 lakh MT was equally distributed amongst MMTC and NAFED, subject to the condition mentioned in Trade Notice No.02/2019-20 dated 3rd April, 2019.

  1. Subsequently, further representations have been received from poultry sector and Govt. of Karnataka seeking an increase in the quota allocation taking into consideration the demand and supply scenario of feed grade Maize (dent corn) in the domestic market. Keeping in view the urgency, the Government has decided to allocate another 4 lakh MT of feed grade Maize (dent corn) to be imported under TRQ with the following relaxations / conditions:
  • (a) Import of 4 lakh MT of feed — grade Maize (dent corn) under TRQ is allowed,

  • (b) Applications invited from STEs under 2.61 (b) of HBP, 2015-20, for import of feed — grade Maize (dent corn) under the TRQ scheme @ 15% Customs duty and meant only for Actual Users. Import for trading purpose is not allowed.

  • (c) Date of submission of application from STEs is extended up to 31st August, 2019 in relaxation of the provision of Para 2.62 of HBP, 201520.
