Subject : - Decision of Settlement

Commission in Central Board of Excise & Customs (CBEC)  regarding regularization of EO default and settlement of customs duty and interest, in terms of Para 2.46 of the Foreign Trade Policy – regarding.                 Attention is invited to Para 2.46 of the Foreign Trade Policy and Policy Circular No.25 dated 30.3.2005 regarding regularization of EO default and settlement of customs duty and interest through the Settlement Commission in the Central Board of Excise & Customs.   2.         The matter was re-examined and it has been decided that in all such cases where the Settlement Commission has given a decision prior to 1.4.2005, the same  should also be dealt by the Regional Authorities concerned at par with the cases relating to the period on or after 1.4.2005.    3.         This issues with the approval of competent authority.       (Ashutosh Jindal) Jt.
