Subject:          Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana benefits for export of Pepper

and other items under ITC(HS) Code 0904      Attention is invited to Notification No.15/2004-09 dt.4.1.2005 giving details of various items eligible for benefits under Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana and subsequent Public Notice No.4(RE-2005)/2004-09 dt.27.4.2005 vide which export of Pepper and other items under ITC(HS) Code 0904 were excluded for benefits under the said Scheme.   2.         Representations have been received requesting to consider Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana benefits on the premise that since the scheme was announced for the 1st time in Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09 announced on 31st August 2004, the exporters of these commodities have factored the component of benefits under the scheme while finalizing export contracts.   3.         Giving due consideration to the above argument put forth by the exporting community, it has been decided that export of pepper and other items covered under ITC(HS) Code 0904 shall be entitled for Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana benefits in respect of such exports made between 1.9.2004 and 26.4.2005 only.   4.          This issues with the approval of the Competent Authority.     Sd/-  ( M.K.
