Subject: Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana benefits for export of Cashew

             Attention is invited to Policy Circular No.18(RE-2005)/2004-2009, dated 28th July, 2005 vide which it was clarified that export of Cashew covered under ITC(HS) Code 080131, 080132 & 20081910 shall be entitled for Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana benefits in respect of such exports made between 4.1.2005 and 26.4.2005 only.   2.                                Representations have been received requesting reconsideration of the period of eligibility of Cashew exports for benefits under VKUY. It has been pleaded that since the scheme was introduced for the first time in the Foreign Trade Policy 2004-09 announced on 31st August 2005, the exporters of this commodity have factored the component of this benefit under the scheme while finalizing export contracts.   3.                 Giving due consideration to the above argument put forth by The Cashew Export Promotion Council Of India, it has been decided  that export of Cashew covered under ITC (HS) Code 080131, 080132 & 20081910 shall   now be entitled for Vishesh Krishi Upaj Yojana benefits in respect of exports made between 01.09.2004 and 26.4.2005 .Policy circular No.18(RE2005)2004-2009 stands modified accordingly.   4.   This issues with the approval of the Director General of Foreign Trade.     (M.K.
