Clarification

Sub: Clarification to Public Notice No. 88/2017 dated 05.07.2017 regarding procedure for amendment/conversion of free shipping bills to Export Promotion shipping bills and amendment/conversion of shipping bills from one scheme to another scheme-reg.

Reference is invited to the Public Notice No. 88/2017 dated 05.07.2017 on the above subject. Instances have been noticed wherein request for amendment/conversion in shipping bill is received after allowing LEO but before shipment of goods. In this regard, it is clarified that the following procedure for amendment/conversion in shipping bill after grant of LEO and before shipment of goods are to be followed:-

Any request for amendment in shipping bill after LEO and before shipment of the goods shall be processed by Docks officers as per the guidelines given in Para 2 A.A and 2A.2 of the aforesaid Public Notice No. 88/2017 dated 05.07.2017.

Any difficulties experienced in this regard may be brought to the notice of the Deputy/Assistant Commissioner in charge of Appraising Main (Export) through e-mail/ phones (e mail address: apmainexp@jawaharCustoms.gov.in, Phone No: 022-27244959).

Action to be taken in terms of decisions taken in this Public Notice should be considered as standing order for the purpose of officers and staff.
