TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY (PART­I, SECTION­1) GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY DEPARTMENT OF COMMERCE   PUBLIC NOTICE No. 51/2004­09 NEW DELHI: the  31st January 2005   In  exercise  of  powers  conferred  under  paragraph  2.4  of  the  Foreign  Trade  Policy,  2004­09,  the  Director  General  of  Foreign  Trade  hereby  makes  the following additions in Handbook of Procedures (Vol. I).   1.         At the end of Para 2.32, the following paragraph will be added :                   All kinds of metal scrap which has been shipped or has arrived in India on or before 25.10.2004  and has not been cleared for home consumption will be given the option to :   (a)                produce a pre­shipment inspection certificate as laid down in Appendix – 28 (Annexure – I); or (b)                subject the consignment to 100% physical examination in terms of Custom Circular No. 56 / 2004 dated 18.10.2004.                  This issues in public interest.       (K.T. CHACKO) Director General of Foreign Trade      [Issued from File No.01/89/180/53/AM01/PC­1.A]
