TO BE PUBLISHED IN THE GAZETTE OF INDIA EXTRAORDINARY (PART –1, SECTION­1)   GOVERNMENT OF INDIA MINISTRY OF COMMERCE & INDUSTRY            PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 55 (RE­00)/ 1997­2002 NEW DELHI, the 16th February,2001   In exercise of  powers conferred under Paragraph 4.11 of the Export and Import Policy 1997­2002, as notified in the Gazette of India extraordinary, Part­II Section 3, Sub section (ii) vide S.O. No.283(E) dated 31.03.1997, the Director General of Foreign Trade hereby makes the following amendment in Handbook (Vol 1).(RE­00), 1997­2002.   The following shall be .inserted as the third  sub paragraph under paragraph 7.5:   Once the norms are fixed by ALC, the value limits mentioned  above in the second subparagraph  would not be applicable to advance licences issued under this paragraph. Such licences, subsequent to fixation of norms by ALC, may be enhanced to a value originally applied for or as decided by the competent authority. The value of the licences, deducted from the entitlement (i.e. Rs. 50 lakhs or 100% of the fob value of preceding year exports, whichever is more), shall be re credited upon fixation of norms by ALC.

Paragraph  15.17 is amended to read as under­

  “Wherever any application for supplementary claim is received , within the specified time limits, such application may also be considered after imposing a cut @ 10% on the entitlement”.   The following correction shall be made in Appendix 28A   Product Group: Chemicals (Product Code No: 62)   The following entry is corrected as under :   S.No: Description DEPB rates Value Cap 539 Metal fitted/Bonded/Un­bonded Rubber Part (Moulded/Extruded) including Engine Mounting and Automotive Part 16%     4)         The following additions are made under various State Heads in Appendix­51B:­   KARNATAKA
