PUBLIC NOTICE NO. 159 / 2016
SUB : Renewal of Self Sealing and Self Certification Permission to the
Exporters upto 31st December, 2020 – reg.
Attention of the Exporters, Custom Brokers and all concerned is invited to Board
Circular No. 736/52/2003-CX dated 11.08.2003 and Circular No. 860/18/2007-CX dated
22.11.2007 and the practice prevailing in this Custom House w.r.t. granting of Self-
Sealing and Self-Certification permission.
2.
Presently, the Self-Sealing and Self-Certification permission is being granted for a
limited period of one year from the date of issue of such permission. Representations
from the Exporters, Customs Brokers and other stake holders have been received
requesting for one time permission for self sealing of export containers.
3.
In order to enhance facilitation to the Exporters, to cut down the human inter-
face and transaction cost, to do away with the repeated visits to Custom House and for
ease of doing business, it has been decided that henceforth all the permissions for Self-
Sealing and Self-Certification of Export containers shall be granted on one time basis.
Those Exporters who have been granted Self-Sealing and Self-Certification permission,
the validity of such permissions would be extended by EDI Section on suo moto basis,
without insisting for any documents. Denial of such permission would be subject to any
specific and adverse information in a particular case with the permission of JC/ADC
incharge of FSP Cell, sent to EDI Section.
4.
Any difficulties faced in the implementation of this Public Notice may be
brought to the notice of the undersigned immediately.
