Subject: Amendment in Export Policy of Mercury and insertion of Policy Condition.

S.O. (E) In exercise of powers conferred by Section 3 read with Section 5 of the Foreign

Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No. 22 of 1992), as amended, read with Para 1.02 and 2.01 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-20, the Central Government hereby makes following amendment to ITC (HS) Code 28054000 of Chapter 28 of Schedule — 2 of ITC (HS) Export Policy related to export of Mercury: Existing Policy Revised Policy Condition Condition ITC HS er Revised S.No 5016 Description Policy IA Prior Informed Consent (PIC) procedure as per the provisions of the| Minamata Convention on mercury is to be obtained from the National Focal Point of Minamata Conventio' in the Ministry of Environment, Mercury ; ae and Climate Change} Restricted (MoEF&CC) in case of import/expo} lof mercury. Effect of this Notification: Export Policy of Mercury has been amended from ‘Free’ to ‘Restricted’ with immediate effect. The export will be subject to obtaining Prior Informed Consent (PIC) from MoEF&CC.
