Notification No 8 /2015-20 New Delhi, Dated: | May, 2016

Subject: Amendment in export policy of edible oils.

S.O. (E) In exercise of the powers conferred by Section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development & Regulation) Act, 1992 (No.22 of 1992), as amended, read with Para 1.02 of the Foreign Trade Policy, 2015-20, the Central Government, hereby, makes the following amendments, with immediate effect, to the Notification No17/2015-20 dated 06.08.2015 relating to SI. No. 92 of Schedule 2 of ITC (HS) Classification of Export & Import Items:

  • (i) Entry at Para 3(g) of the Notification No17/2015-20 dated 06.08.2015 is amended to read as:

“Rice Bran oil in bulk, irrespective of any pack size.”

(ii) Entry at Para 4 of the said Notification is amended to read as: “Export of edible oils (other than those mentioned in Para 3 of the said Notification) is permitted in branded consumer packs of upto 5 Kgs with a Minimum Export Price of USD 900 per MT.”

Ds Effect of this notification:

Export of Rice Bran oil in bulk (irrespective of any pack size) has been exempted from the prohibition on export of edible oils.
