NOTIFICATION NO. 4/2002-2007 NEW DELHI: 15th May, 2002

S.O (E) - In exercise of powers conferred under section 5 of the Foreign Trade (Development and Regulation) Act, 1992 read with paragraph 2.1 of the Export and Import Policy, 2002-2007, the Central Government hereby makes the following amendments in the ITC(HS) Classifications of Export and Import Items , 2002-2007 published on 31st March, 2002 as amended from time to time, namely- at the end of Chapter-85 of the said ITC(HS) Classification of Export & Import items, 2002- 2007, the following import licensing note shall be inserted as follows:-

“Import licensing notes:

(1) In respect of only the items covered under the erstwhile Code 852520 09 in the previous ITC (HS) Classification 1997-2002 viz. “Other radio communication equipment including VHF, UHF and microwave communication equipment”, the Condition relating to the Policy would (continue to) read as follows-“Not permitted to be imported except against a licence to be issued by the WPC Wing of Ministry of Communication”.

This issues in public interest.
